Adelaide’s pizza game is going strong. We have been to Pizzateca few months ago after hearing amazing reviews from multiple people. It’s located in Mclaren vale, which is little out of the way for us however we love spending a day in Mclaren vale anyway that we were happy enough to drive there. In fact, Pizzateca is only open during the weekend and booking is essential (although if you go by a group of two and if you get really lucky you can drop in and get a table).

There are plenty of parking, and both outdoor and indoor seatings are available. I thought it would make a beautiful venue for a group lunch/dinner, especially if you have little kids in the family as there were plenty of space for them to run around.

We’ve ordered a pizza each. Margherita and another pizza that had tuna as it’s main topping (which i don’t think they have this on their current menu). We are not a huge fan of tuna, especially when it comes as a topping for a pizza but it was incredibly well balanced with all the other flavours and we really enjoyed it.

Now, onto their Margherita… their tomato sauce was the bomb and that wasn’t all. I had to finish all the crusts because they were so good. The Margherita was so simple and perfect we loved every bite of it.

Both of us agreed that this definitely topped the pizzas that we had in Italy. If you are looking for a good day out, I highly suggest heading to Mclaren vale region where you can enjoy local wines and finish your day with delicious pizzas at Pizzateca!
