I’ve been to Jamie’s Italian Adelaide couple of times now. Located in the corner of King William Road and North Terrace, it is a convenient location for a catch up after work. The interior of the venue is designed beautifully with high ceiling, marble walls, and art deco style chandeliers.
I went in a big group and was seated in their ‘private’ area. We tried their planks, fried squid, vongole pasta and tagliatelle bolognese this time. Their planks consisted of some cured meat, veggies and cheese, which looked great. Their pasta dishes looked great as well. However, I was just not impressed with all of them as I found them bland and flavourless. Despite their name, the food doesn’t taste very much Italian and this is probably why I am disappointed about their food. As there are plenty of options when it comes to finding some good Italian food, I wouldn’t recommend Jamie’s Italian for their food. However, I think it still is a good venue if you are going there for chat over drinks and (only) small nibbles.
In addition, there was also 8% surcharge as we went in a big group. To my surprise, service was very disappointing. One of us had to walk up to the waiter to order drinks and pay the bill, and water jugs were never refilled during 3-4 hours.
